About Us

For the Culture Homeschool was founded by parents who have a vision for what is possible in their children's education. We have been searching for a San Antonio homeschool community for our children to collaborate on projects, build relationships, and learn with kids who look like them. When we couldn't find what we were looking for, we decided to create it.

Our dream is to see spaces like this all over the country where children have freedom to ask questions, thrive in their learning and are celebrated for who they are.

and we're just getting started . . .

What Makes Us Different :

All of our class offerings prioritize culture, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. We are a group of secular homeschooling families who celebrate our children’s passions, cultivate excellence and amplify their voices through discovery, development and dreaming fearlessly.

Culture

Our programs are designed with intention, putting the rich and diverse traditions, and histories of Black, Brown, & Indigenous communities at the forefront.

Collaboration

Both children and parents take an active role in learning and building our community. We create rich social and learning opportunities for our children.

Creativity

Creativity is a process. The decisions students make as they paint, design and write develop their imaginations, originality, productivity and problem-solving abilities.

Critical Thinking

We are intentional about encouraging our students to explore, ask questions, test their theories, and think about changes they could make or things they could do differently.

Our Leadership

We are parents who are passionate about homeschooling and excited to share our collective experiences. We believe that homeschooling has the power to transform education for our children.

Our group is a mix of experienced homeschoolers and those who are new to the game, but what brings us all together is our desire to create amazing learning opportunities for our kids. We're all about pushing their academic development, giving them unforgettable experiences, and making sure they're culturally aware and sensitive to the world around them.

Our Vision

Our vision at For the Culture Homeschool is to provide an environment that's not only academically challenging, but also culturally affirming and emotionally supportive.

We center Black, Brown, and Indigenous cultures in our offerings, while fostering a cooperative community that celebrates diversity and mutual support.
We envision a space where learners can collaborate, learn from one another, and grow together. Our goal is to create a cooperative community that's rooted in love, respect, and mutual support.

In addition, we hope to share any curriculum and content we create to increase cultural representation in the homeschool community.
